My favorite thing about working at Northwestern

I love working with people who are excited to get into the healthcare field and believe that the mind, body and spirit are all key components to being healthy. Some amazing stories have been told in my office when I have met with students - and I get so much satisfaction working with a student to help them achieve their dreams.

I have also discovered that there are a lot of dog lovers at Northwestern and I never tire listening to the crazy, cute things that people’s pets have done.

Before working at Northwestern

When I started at Northwestern as a receptionist in one of our University clinics, I was completely unaware of what natural health care was. I quickly learned that chiropractic care, acupuncture and massage therapy did really amazing things for people and it was not long before I was hooked.

I graduated with a B.S. in elementary education from Mankato State University - Go Mavs! Since my background is in education, I jumped at the chance to work with students again as an admissions representative, sharing health care professions that I truly believe in. I began working exclusively with students interested in the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, but I expanded my horizons and now work with students in all programs.

My life outside Northwestern

I am lucky to have a great family that is not only supportive, but also a lot of fun. I’m addicted to comedy TV and easily hooked on 4-5 shows at a time. Netflix marathons have replaced any type of book reading that I used to do. Happy hour and good conversations with my friends act as my oxygen. I am also a football addict in the fall - Go Vikings! Someday, I hope to become a world traveler and magically learn interior design.
