FULLY ACCREDITED EDUCATION
Northwestern was the first
institution in Minnesota to receive accreditation
by the United States-based Accrediting Commission
for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is the
only institution in the Upper Midwest to offers
master's degrees in both Oriental medicine and
acupuncture.
EXPERIENCED INTERNATIONAL FACULTY
A majority of the faculty
members graduated from institutions in China
with training in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE
Northwestern has been approved to offer federal
financial
aid to MCAOM's acupuncture and Oriental medicine
students.
IN-DEPTH CURRICULUM
The
curriculum provides 2,300
hours (for acupuncture) or 3,000 hours (for Oriental
medicine) of instruction and requires eight to
nine trimesters (three years) to complete in
a daytime format.
INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE
MCAOM
student interns serve in a variety of clinic
settings ranging from an on-campus clinic to the
Aliveness Project, a non-profit organization providing
services to people living with HIV/AIDS.
PERSONAL ATTENTION
The low student-to-teacher ratio helps students
prepare for and succeed in the fields of acupuncture
and Oriental medicine.
CAREER ASSISTANCE
Northwestern Health Sciences University's Career
Service Center assists all graduates in finding
practice locations and answers other post-graduate
concerns.
