| Envisioning Future Models of Integrative Care: Results of an NIH Funded Pilot Study |
Dr. David Eisenberg, principal investigator of this NIH funded R-01 grant will describe the training of this multi-disciplinary team and the results of the pilot randomized trial performed as part of this NIH funded initiative.Specifically, adults with sub acute low back pain were randomized to receive usual care versus usual care, plus access to the multi-disciplinary (a.k.a. integrative care) team. The provocative results of this pilot study suggest that such models are feasible and should now be tested in fully powered randomized trials. Apart from summarizing the results of this study, Dr. Eisenberg willhighlight the differences between this particular model of multi-disciplinary care as compared with other models which have been studied to date. |
