Donelda Gowan Moody

Gowan-Moody graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (Sutton, Ontario) in 1987, and with honors from the University of Saskatchewan (Canada) with a bachelor of arts degree in 1997. Gowan-Moody’s honors degree thesis was entitled The Effects of Therapeutic Massage on Mood.

Gowan-Moody has maintained a thriving private practice during the past 19 years, and has taught massage theory and practical classes at the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy in Saskatoon (Saskatchewan, Canada).

Gowan-Moody has served as both the education chair for the Massage Therapist Association of Saskatchewan (MTAS) and the chief examiner for the Provincial Membership Qualifying Examinations. She has also contributed to the National Task Force on Outcome-based Massage.

Gowan-Moody is a registered member of the MTAS. Currently, she is co-chair of the Canadian Massage Therapy Research Network. She is also the president of Education Initiatives Canada, a continuing education company that provides seminars, workshops and keynote presentations for massage therapists across Canada. Gowan-Moody also belongs to the IN CAM research network, and Complementary and Alternative Medicine Education and Research Network of Alberta (CAMera).
