University Bookstore

As a alumnus of Northwestern Health Sciences University, you have the option to continue to using your Northwestern e-mail account indefinately.

To continue using your Northwestern e-mail address, contact Dan Prill at dprill@nwhealth.edu with your request or leave him a message at (952/800) 888-4777, ext. 399.

New graduates will receive a reminder e-mail from Dan Prill a few months after graduation. New graduates may continue to use their e-mail account by replying to Dan's e-mail.


If you choose to continue using your Northwestern e-mail account, you will be subject to the same acceptable use policy as current students and employees.

HEALTH AND FITNESS FACILITIES

Northwestern alumni are welcome to use our health and fitness facilities, which include a fitness center, a gymnasium basketball court and a swimming pool.

During the University's regular hours, you can access the fitness center, gymnasium and swimming pool without a University key card. However, after regular hours, you must have a
key card for access.

You must have a University key card to access the men's or women's locker room at any time.

Fitness Center
The fitness center offers a wide variety of equipment: a cardio room with aerobic free weights, medicine balls, yoga mats, steps, etc; cardiovascular equipment such as treadmills, pedal bikes, stair climbers and elliptical machines; and Universal weights and free weights.

Gymnasium Basketball Court
The gymnasium basketball court is equipped with six basketball hoops, glass backboards, and full-court and half-court configurations.

You are welcome to use the gymnasium when there are not currently scheduled classes or other programming. A schedule calendar is posted each week on the gymnasium door.

Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is 35 feet by 75 feet and is 10 feet deep on one end and 3 feet deep on the other end. The pool does not have lifeguard supervision and all swimming is done at the swimmer's own risk.

You are welcome to use the swimming pool for open swimming when there is not a scheduled program or lesson. A schedule calendar is posted each week on the outside door of the pool.

HERBAL DISPENSARY at the EDITH DAVIS TEACHING CLINIC

The herbal dispensary at the Edith Davis Teaching Clinic carries an extensive supply of raw, powered and patent herbs and formulas. Any licensed acupuncturist (LAc) in Minnesota can order herbal prescriptions for their patients or themselves.

Herbs can be picked up in-person at the Edith Davis Teaching Clinic during regular hours, or for a small fee, can be mailed to the patient or acupuncturist. Herbs must be paid for at the time of pick-up or before they are mailed.

Alumni association members receive a 10% discount on herbal dispensary orders. This discount is open to all Northwestern alumni association members: Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Alumni Association; Northwestern College of Chiropractic Alumni Association; and the School of Massage Therapy Alumni Association.

To Order Herbs or Herbal Formulas:

1. A written order from a licensed acupuncturist is required;

2. The dispensary staff will check the Minnesota Board of Medical Examiners for license
information, (so the acupuncturist does not need to fax in their current license);

3. Fax the order to (952) 887-1396, OR

4. E-mail the order to mcaompharmacy@nwhealth.edu. Please leave a phone message at (952/800) 888-4777, ext. 364 to alert the dispensary staff that an e-mail has been sent.

5. Phone orders are not accepted.

KEY CARD ACCESS

Northwestern alumni are able to access the University building to use the bookstore, library, fitness center, gymnasium, swimming pool and locker rooms during regular hours.

After regular hours, a University key card is required for access. Your student key card is automatically de-activated upon graduation; however, you may choose to have your key card reactivated at no charge if you retained your original key card. If you turned in your key card prior to graduate or have misplaced or lost your key card, you may purchase a new key card for $15.

To reactivate your key card or to purchase a new key card, stop in the Human Resources Office (Room 113) or call (952/800) 888-4777 to speak to Marilyn Bangasser, ext. 0 or Lous Richter, ext. 243.
