COURSE

The 5k run/walk is an out-and-back course primarily on 84th Street and France Ave. The route is along suburban streets and includes several hills. Click here to check out maps of the two courses.

Study Finds Daily Walk Improves Heart Health

Walking for 30 minutes a day five or more days a week at moderate or hard intensity, or walking three to four times a week at hard intensity can lead to significant long-term improvement in cardiorespiratory health according to the results of a new two-year study of 500 sedentary men and women aged 30 to 69. The key to getting these results is either high-frequency or hard-intensity walking report the researchers.
