Ranger
Boats Ultimate Bass Challenge Puts the Fun in Fundraising
for Northwestern.
The 2008 Ranger Boats Ultimate Bass Challenge drew more than
400 people to Lake Minnetonka on June 13th and raised awareness
and thousands of dollars for Northwestern Health Sciences
University.
At the Bass Challenge, 30 teams participated in a fishing
tournament led by bass professionals with fully stocked Ranger
Boats. The winning team included Angie Hillgenberg and Fred Hauck.
The event also included cruises on Lake Minnetonka and a
Beach Party at the Lord Fletcher's in Spring Park, Minn. where live music was provided by the Belladivas. Along
the shore, crowds gathered to watch the "weigh-in" show where
tournament participants weighed their three largest fish.
Additionally, people enjoyed free food, awards, raffles, and
contests.
"This is a great event," said Dave Stude, DC, a participant
in the tournament. "I really like supporting Northwestern
and its mission."
Many prizes were given away during the event including a
Ranger boat valued at $30,000. Terry Stirewalt, from Richfield, Minnesota, won the boat.
This year's Ultimate Bass Challenge was also included as a sanctioned event of the Starkey Hearing Foundation Gala weekend festivities. The Starkey Hearing Foundation delivers more than 50,000 hearing aids annually through more than 100 hearing missions a year in countries stretching from the U.S. to Vietnam. In addition to giving the gift of hearing, the Foundation promotes hearing health awareness while supporting research and education, "So the World May Hear".
