I am a doctor of chiropractic at the Bloomington Natural Care Center, a faculty clinician in University Health Services and professor at the College of Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University.
My practice primarily focuses on treating patients with acute or chronic recurring pain. My goal is to assist the patient in reaching a satisfactory level of pain reduction and to help them return to normal activities.
I use chiropractic adjustments to areas of the spine as well as appropriate therapies which may include ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, manual muscle work, traction (sustained force that gradually aligns the spine), and occasionally pain-based acupuncture treatment. I also incorporate other providers in the care of my patient if it is clinically appropriate. My approach to care is patient-centered, evidence-informed and coupled with clinical experience.
As an instructor I enjoy teaching future healthcare providers my knowledge and skills in caring for and treating patients. When I instruct I utilize a clinically practical approach to patient care by combining knowledge and available evidence while keeping in mind individual patient needs. I feel that it is an honor to have the opportunity to assist in student education as our future healthcare providers go forward to serve their communities.
