Brand New Name, Brand New Neon SignPosted November 7, 2007
Dr. Greenawalt, founder of Foot Levelers, Inc., has made numerous donations to Northwestern. Most recently, he and his son Kent Greenawalt generously donated $1 million. The contribution includes a $500,000 gift and a $500,000 challenge grant. The donation brings Greenawalt’s total giving to the University to more than $1.6 million. The donation will be used toward the construction of a $6.5 million addition to the University’s existing building. “Monte is an icon in the chiropractic profession,” said Jim McDonald, MBA, vice president of administrative services at Northwestern. “Naming the cafeteria after him is a tribute to somebody who has really made an impact on the profession and on our University.” The idea to name the cafeteria after Monte came when McDonald and Al Traina, DC, former president of Northwestern, met with Kent Greenawalt. The three men wanted to name something after Monte that students and faculty use frequently. The cafeteria was the perfect choice. Upcoming additions to the cafeteria include a canvas awning placed over the west entrance to Monte’s Grill and two large contemporary light fixtures. |

The
Northwestern Health Sciences University cafeteria has a new name
and a new look. The cafeteria, recently named Monte’s Grill,
received a brand new neon sign outside the west doors, and a painted
sign inside on the north wall. The name is honoring Northwestern’s
longtime supporter, Monte Greenawalt, DC.
