Clinical Internship 1
The DeRusha Clinical Education Center, located on the University
campus, provides initial clinical laboratory experience to
trimester 6 interns. This experience gives students clinic
practice prior to providing care to public patients.
Clinical Internship 2
During trimester 7, interns provide care to patients under
the supervision of faculty clinicians. Patients are comprised of Northwestern students, employees, and immediate family members of both groups. Students are mentored by doctors of chiropractic
in the University Health Service, in one of Northwestern's
Natural Care Centers, or in the Community Based Internship program.
Clinic Preparatory Lab
The Department of Clinical Education meets with Trimester
6 and 7 students in a class entitled Clinic Prep Lab to assist in the transition from on-campus student
to the experiential, out-patient clinical components.
Clinical Education Remediation Panel (CERP) T7
Interns with clinical and interpersonal skill deficiencies
are evaluated by the Clinical Education Remediation Panel, a standing
University committee. When an intern needs a remediation plan, this
panel creates, implements, and monitors the plan.
