Module 1: Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal™
A safe, painless and effective treatment for rejuvenating the face as well as the whole body. You will learn how to customize a treatment, by ascertaining the Five Element constitution and meridian terrain involved in the aging aprocess of the patient. This seminar will also include:

  • Contraindications
  • Benefits
  • Intake and release forms
  • Pre-screening of patients
  • Special facial renewal points
  • 5-element wrinkle charts and hara palaption
  • Physiognomy
  • French acupuncture facial needling techniques
  • An introduction to motor point needling for the neck
  • A comprehensive instruction manual

This 3-day module is a prerequistie for module 2: Advanced Constituional Facial Acupuncture Renewal.

Module 2: Advanced Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal™

You will learn advanced needling techniques like scar needling, intradermal needling, Japanese techniques, threading, needle depth and insertion techniques, as well as in-depth work with facial muscle and motor points. In addition, become skilled at:

  • Energetics of the face
  • Anatomy and physiology of the skin
  • Function of the motor points - an Oriental medicine perspective
  • Guidelines and a suggested protocol for motor points
  • Advanced needling technique demonstration by the instructor
  • Business forum - way to promote your practice, create a client base, advertise, professional connections.

Practitioners and/or advanced students who have previously completed module 1, Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal (days 1 & 2) may register for module 2 only (days 3&4).

Instructor Biography

Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, L. Ac., M. S., M. M., one of the leading proponents of facial renewal techniques in the world today, was awarded with the title of 2005 Educator of the Year by the American Association of Oriental Medicine (AAOM) at their Annual Conference and Exposition for her contributions to the field of Oriental medicine as a teacher, creator of innovative treatment protocols, writer for acupuncture periodicals, and advocate of acupuncture in the national media. She has 26 years of clinical experience as a healing practitioner, and has personally trained over 2,000 practitioners from North America and abroad in her treatment protocols.

An NCCAOM certified, licensed acupuncturist, Zen Shiatsu practitioner, massage therapist, Craniosacral therapist, Acutonics ® practitioner, opera singer and Interfaith minister, Ms. Wakefield has taught her innovative seminars in Constitutional Facial Renewal at AZ Acupuncture School and the Desert Healing Center in Tucson, AZ, NESA in Watertown, MA, SBCOM in Santa Barbara, ACTCM in San Francisco and in Oakland, CA, PCOM and Swedish Institute in New York, NY, in Hawaii, Orlando, FL, Santa Fe, NM, Bastyr University in Seattle, WA, Michener Institute in Toronto, Vancouver, BC, CANADA, and other locations.
