Steve Gordon, LMT, NCTMB was trained in massage at New Hampshire Community Technical College in Claremont, N.H. and has been doing massage since the end of 2000. After more than 20 years in newspaper journalism as a writer and editor, he cut back on the newspaper time and increased the massage time, until the fall of 2007 when he left the paper.

Since starting his massage practice he has been working with people who have cancer and people approaching the end of life. Since 2000, he has been spending part of one day a week providing massage to patients at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. -- mostly oncology patients.

In 2006, he began work on founding a new nonprofit program to provide massage to cancer patients in their homes. That program, called The Hand to Heart Project, was launched in the summer of 2007 and has provided many hundreds of home visit massages to clients and their caregivers since then.
