Functional Restoration - Lumbar Spine, Hip and Knee
|
Sat, Oct 12, 2013 |
This is an expansion of the 2012 Functional Restoration of the Hip seminar. You are aware of how important the hip is when evaluating low back and knee conditions. We decided to expand the material to cover additional elements relevant to the low back and knee.
The essentials of clinical anatomy, physiology and biomechanics are presented in a way that is easily understood for clinical practice. We address ways to teach patients about functional biomechanics so that it is easy for them to understand.
Rehabilitation philosophy and principles are covered in depth to give you a better understanding of the process. Instead of following protocols, you will be better equipped to conceptualize the rehab process and add techniques or exercises to the process.
The seminar is lecture in the morning and then the entire afternoon and evening is hands-on learning. You will do movement analysis, evaluation techniques, corrective exercises, mobilization techniques, manual therapy techniques and a significant amount of movement.

| Functional Restoration - Cervical, Thoracic, Spine and Shoulder |
Sun, Oct 13, 2013 |
| This is an expansion of the 2012 Functional Restoration of the Shoulder seminar. During the shoulder seminar in 2012 we covered the importance of thoracic mobility and its relationship to scapular stability. This year we decided to expand our study to the cervical and thoracic spine in more depth.
Functional anatomy, biomechanics, and physiology are presented in a manner that makes it easy to explain to patients. Patients must understand what is wrong with them and why it is happening, and the morning part of the lecture covers these aspects.
Rehabilitation philosophy and principles are covered in depth to give you a better understanding of the process as well. You will be better equipped to conceptualize the rehabilitation process instead of following injury-specific exercise programs.
The afternoon portion of the seminar is entirely hands-on learning to evaluate movement and functional biomechanics. We then move into manual therapy techniques, mobilization techniques, corrective exercises and active rehabilitation. |
