David Seaman, DC, MS, DABCN, DACBN received his bachelor's degree in biology from Rutgers University, and then attended New York Chiropractic College, graduating in 1986. He earned his master's degree in nutrition from the University of Bridgeport in 1991 and completed his postdoctoral studies in neurology at Logan College of Chiropractic the next year. A popular and prolific author of nutrition, chiropractic and neurology articles, Dr. Seaman is author of the text Clinical Nutrition for Pain, Inflammation and Tissue Healing.

The study of pain is advancing each year in terms of basic science and clinical applications. You will learn the salient points of current pain literature so you can stand above others when treating chronic pain. Learn the difference between neuroceptive and neuropathic pain and which is influenced by psychological overlay. Find out how mental state influences pain inhibition and facilitation by looking at the latest perspective on anatomy and physiology. You will learn to understand the chemistry of common pharmacologic agents that treat pain (like NSAIDs, corticoseteroids, acetaminophen, among others). How vitamin D drives chronic paid via altered periosteal metabolism and the over-expression of systemic pro-inflammatory biochemistry. Review the latest research on gastrointestinal dysfunction and back pain expression.
You will leave the seminar with foundational information to position yourself as the expert on musculoskeletal pain in your community. Get a PhD view about the clinical problem of chronic pain with insights particularly into the psyhcological and biochemical factors that perpetuate chronic disabling pain. Any doctor of chiropractic who treats patients in pain, particularly with respect to patients whose pain does not resolve with manual care and exercise will benefit from this seminar.
