MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to the Northwestern Health Sciences Assessment website.

The NWHSU mission and vision form the foundation for the University Assessment Program. Our students must be fully prepared to meet the challenges of providing natural methods of health care in a changing world. It is not enough to have a static set of facts and skills. It is imperative for students to have all the skills and knowledge required to be effective practitioners, as well as to achieve high levels of competence in the professional abilities necessary to be leaders in health care, now and in the future. For that reason, our University Learning Outcomes reflect these qualities.

The University Assessment Program creates the focus and directs the resources to set high expectations for student learning, measure progress toward our established learning outcomes, and provide a basis for reflection, discussion and feedback to improve our programs. Assessment activities provide a way to support our strong commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

The University Assessment Program gives faculty and students a way to work together toward our highest aspirations. Embedded in the Assessment Program logo are the words, "Better Learning, Better Care, Better Health". The high standard of learning our students meet at Northwestern will positively impact their ability to deliver the best natural health care. In turn, our communities will benefit from the services they provide to enhance their overall health and wellness.
