Statement of Purpose

The purpose of the University Assessment Committee (UAC) is to develop, implement and support the on-going University assessment process in order to improve student learning.

Goals

• Direct and plan for the University assessment process and procedures.
• Facilitate and assist University programs for the design and development of appropriate assessment tools.
• Summarize assessment data for use in curricular review and improvement.
• Coordinate assessment data, results and reports for institutional effectiveness and accreditation.
• Recommend and review faculty development activities related to assessment and improvement of student learning.
• Communicate to the University community about assessment information and activities.
• Represent the University in assessment consortia, councils and other state, regional and national organizations.
