| Statement
of Purpose
To promote, encourage and support professional development opportunities
for faculty through collaboration, feedback, and dedicated resources.
The main focus of the CTLA is to support student learning. We contribute
to the success of student learning by utilizing assessment results
and other resources to assist faculty in course and teaching development.
The CTLA integrates university-wide use of assessment techniques
(coordinated through the University Assessment Committee) and teaching
and learning resources (coordinated through the CTL Advisory Group).
The CTLA attempts to take into account both faculty needs as instructors
and student needs as learners. The resources we offer are tailored
to meet both sets of needs, primarily through faculty development
opportunities and materials. We offer resources for individual faculty
members as well as group workshops and seminars. Our bi-monthly
newsletter, the CTLA Update, keeps faculty informed of current
initiatives and opportunities.
