Teaching Ethics to Professional Students

This class will focus on three topics:

Workshop #1: Principles of Professionalism, Holding to a Higher Standard
Objectives- Identify the necessity for teaching ethics and professionalism; Identify the unique mandate that the educational institution fulfills; Work in a group to identify specific student ethical issues.

Workshop #2: Ethics, Virtues, Curricular content and positioning
Objectives- Identify the principles of professionalism; i dentify the ethics and virtues essential for the practicing health care professional; Work in a group to describe the influence of an ethic on the delivery of health care; Have fun!

Workshop #3: Resolving an Ethical Dilemma
Objectives- Identify an ethical dilemma; Demonstrate the successful use of a template/rubric; Work in a group to resolve a specific ethical dilemma; Have fun; Leave here and really have fun!
