Can You “Imagine Our Future”? Support the Capital Campaign by Joining the Annual Fund

After more than six decades of pioneering excellence, Northwester Health Sciences University has established itself as an international leader in natural health care education. The University has an exceptionally deep and rich history of firsts in chiropractic and natural health care. The foundation of Northwestern’s spectacular success has been the thousands of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the institution who have poured their energy and passion into the University since 1941. It is to these dedicated and exceptional individuals that the University owes its existence as a renowned “Community of Caring.”

Now, as we embark on our critical “Imagine Our Future” capital campaign, Northwestern Health Sciences University is poised to further enhance its stature and fully express its unique mission and vision. To successfully achieve our goal of becoming the nation’s university of choice in natural health care education, the University needs many more dedicated and exceptional individuals to support the institution on its journey. Northwestern’s Annual Fund is one way that supporters of the University can support the “Imagine Our Future” capital campaign and ensure that the institution continues to be a pioneer in natural health care education.

A wide range of giving options are available to Annual Funds donors, providing supporters with a variety of giving levels and funding opportunities. It is through your support that we can truly “Imagine Our Future.”

University Founders are keen advocates of the idea of a multi-program higher education institution that focuses exclusively on natural health care – a University such as Northwestern. They seek to aggressively support Northwestern’s mission and vision as a premium level. They are vital supporters of an environment that fosters exemplary, innovative, and ethically-based educational programs in natural health care. They support clinical research, the development of collaborative and integrated health care models, and the preparation of students for successful careers. They believe that Northwestern must provide high-quality, lifelong-learning opportunities, and be of service to a variety of communities. Above all, they believe in supporting Northwestern’s quest for excellence and continuous improvement.

University Founders will be provided with ongoing opportunities to offer their insights about the University’s goals and progress in individual contacts with Northwestern’s President, Mark Zeigler, DC. University Founders will be invited to Northwestern annually for a donor recognition event, and will also be provided complimentary registrations to certain University events. Finally, University Founders will be recognized with a memorable custom-made pin that identifies their passion for Northwestern; and a central place in the University’s Hall of Honor.

More than 100 Northwestern alumni and friends of the University have joined the President’s Circle since its inception in 2001. These committed supporters of Northwestern are interested in providing counsel and assistance to the senior leadership at the University on the institution’s vision and direction. They want to help advance and sustain the image of the University to insure the highest quality educational, research, and service programs to meet the foremost ideals of the natural health care profession. Members of the President’s Circle are awarded a custom-made distinctive pin that identifies their participation and commitment to Northwestern’s people, its goals and its mission; and are given a special mention in Northwestern’s Hall of Honor.

For donors who are dedicated to supporting the University’s pioneering mission and vision, yet who desire to manage their donations at an acceptable financial level, becoming a Northwestern Champion is an excellent option. The four giving levels allow donors a wide range of choices, allowing them to tailor their giving program to their own unique situation. As with all of the Annual Fund giving programs, Northwestern Champions can spread their donation out over the course of a year. For instance, University alumni who choose to have their credit card billed each month at the Gold Level would donate $50 per month, based on an annual donation of $600. Or, a University faculty or staff member who joins the Silver Level (at $260 annually) through a payroll deduction would donate $10 per paycheck. Northwestern Champions at the Platinum or Gold levels are awarded a unique pin honoring their commitment to the University. All Northwestern Champions are recognized in Northwestern’s Hall of Honor.

Stewards of the University
Stewards of Chiropractic
Stewards of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
Stewards of Massage Therapy
Stewards of Research

Northwestern Stewards are interested in providing leadership in a specific profession and supporting Northwestern students enrolled in that discipline’s educational program. Members of the Stewards Program self-select which type of stewardship they choose to support, and their entire annual donation goes to support restricted fund scholarships at Northwestern for students in a specific profession. In addition, for their commitment of $500 per year for three years, Stewards will join a select group of people who will be electronically and personally linked to one of our academic deans. Stewards will receive regular electronic notices, information, and feedback opportunities to be kept abreast of our internal plans; our questions and investigations into what makes education most effective; and our solutions to the challenge of providing quality academic and clinical experiences for tomorrow’s natural health care practitioners. Stewards are presented with a distinctive membership pin in recognition of their support, and are recognized in Northwestern’s Hall of Honor.

Research Steward

Over the last decade the Wolfe-Harris Center for Clinical Studies at Northwestern has established a reputation as a leading center for conservative health care research. The Center has garnered more than $9 million in funding during that period, for studies ranging from migraine headaches to low back pain. Your gift to the Research Fund helps assure the University will remain an international leader in health care research. In recognition of their support, Research Stewards are awarded a unique pin recognizing their support of research, and are recognized in Northwestern’s Hall of Honor.

For many of us, the passing of colleagues, friends and family leaves a gap that can never be filled. One of the ways to memorialize people and the significance of their presence in our lives and profession is to make a Gift of Remembrance. You can contact our office or make a Gift of Remembrance online.
