Purpose:

• To further Northwestern Health Sciences University’s commitment to diversity
• To fulfill our commitment to the development of a culturally competent University
• To better serve minority populations
• To encourage and reward students for contributions to advancing diversity at Northwestern and in the community

Eligibility requirements

Student who is from a group which is underrepresented and who is committed to meeting the health care needs of underserved and/or underrepresented groups as demonstrated by existing demographic trends in the United States.

Application must be submitted according to the following trimester levels:

• T 3 - 8 Chiropractic students;
• T 3 - 7 MCAOM students;
• T1 Massage students.   

Criteria

• Evidence of financial need;
• Evidence of high academic achievement specifically a minimum GPA of 3.0;
• Letter of recommendation from an advisor or mentor who has worked with the student in a diversity program;
• Completed application form;
• Application essay; and
• Personal interview with the Diversity Commission Scholarship Committee.
