Tax Policies
Donations are tax-deductible
You donation to the University is:
- Tax deductible to the extent provided by law
- Not pre-tax - the IRS requires payroll taxes be paid on all donations
- Deducted at the end of the year on your income taxes, as allowed by law
- Deducted in the same way as any other donation you make to a qualified, 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization
Your tax receipt
You will receive a tax receipt letter in January from the Office of Development Office for gifts made in the previous calendar year for:
- Payroll contributions deducted during the previous calendar year (your last calendar year payroll stub will also indicate your total payroll deductions)
- One-time donations paid by credit card (or check) during the previous calendar year
