2008 Gala Honoree

Kent Greenawalt
President, Foot Levelers, Inc.
Kent S. Greenawalt, the President and CEO of Foot Levelers,
Inc., has earned the prestigious 2008 Brilliant Star Award
from Northwestern Health Sciences University. The award is
being presented on Nov. 1, 2008, at the Stars Among Us Gala.
His father, the late Monte Greenawalt, DC, founded Foot Levelers,
so supporting chiropractic was a proud family tradition.
Kent has made a significant impact
on Northwestern Health Sciences University. Through Foot
Levelers, Inc., Kent and his father Monte have provided more
than two decades of support to the University. The Greenawalts
were early financial contributors to the University’s research efforts, and then provided
funding for the complete renovation of the institution’s
library in 1995, which is now named the Greenawalt Library.
Kent and Foot Levelers - through the Monte Greenawalt Foundation
- were one of the first contributors to the University’s
capital campaign, “Imagine Our Future,” when Kent
announced that the Foundation would contribute $1 million to
the University.
Kent’s impact on the chiropractic
profession has also been significant. In 2003, he led a group
of individuals to form the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress
(FCP), which is dedicated to increasing the public understanding
of the benefits of chiropractic care through national public
relations campaigns. Kent currently serves as the founder
and chairman of the board for the FCP. He has also helped
revolutionize the way chiropractors treat patients by developing
and patenting many health care products. In addition to his
leadership at Foot Levelers, Kent is a committed supporter
of chiropractic education, as evidenced by the numerous grants,
research studies, donations, and scholarships that he has
awarded to chiropractic educational institutions.
Kent has been the recipient of several awards
from chiropractic organizations, including the American Chiropractic
Association’s
(ACA) Humanitarian of the Year award, the highest honor the
organization can award to a non-chiropractor. The ACA also
bestowed its President’s Award upon him for the invaluable
educational and fundraising work he has done on behalf of the
chiropractic profession.
He was Dynamic Chiropractic’s Person of the Year in
2001; recipient of The Masters Circle's most prestigious accolade “Humanitarian
of the Year” in 2003; and was presented with the “Lifetime
Philanthropy” award from Parker College of Chiropractic
and Parker Seminars in 2004 “in recognition of a lifetime
of sharing and giving to the chiropractic profession.” |
