2010 Stars Among Us Gala Recap

Charlie DuBois of Standard Process Honored at
Stars Among Us Gala

At the beautiful Graves 601 Hotel in Minneapolis, Northwestern Health Sciences University honored Charlie DuBois, President of Standard Process,Inc. along with his mother, Sylvia and sister, Mary, at the Stars Among Us Gala in November 2010.

As long-time supporters of health and nutrition, Mr. DuBois and his family have worked as tireless supporters of Northwestern,donating time, services, and financial support to the University.“At Standard Process, what we’ve tried to do throughout the years is develop a business model that’s not just based on making and selling a product, it’s based on service and it’s based on values,” said Mr. DuBois at the Gala. “As we go through life, we realize how important it is to serve others.”

Standard Process has made several contributions to Northwestern under the leadership of Mr. DuBois. The company generously provided the funding for an endowed nutrition chair, as well as the development of a master’s degree program in clinical nutrition. In the fall of 2008, Northwestern completed the Standard Process Healing Garden, a beautiful garden located in the University’s courtyard, created with a donation from Standard Process.

Following welcoming remarks by Dr. Mark Zeigler, President of Northwestern and Dr. Kent Erickson, Board Chair, a video honoring Charlie DuBoisand his family from Standard Process was shown. Mr. DuBois accepted on behalf of his sister, Mary DuBois-Wisnewski, and mother, Sylvia, who were unable to attend. His wife , Leslie, and four children joined him at the event.

The Brilliant Star Award honors those who demonstrate their dedication to the natural health care profession by offering their services, time, effort, support, and funds freely to the University and other organizations. “Charlie is a part of the Northwestern family,” said Dr. Zeigler.“We are so proud of that, and privileged to call him one of our own.” Throughout the past several years, Standard Process has donated more than $1 million to Northwestern.

“The past has been so great and wonderful, but I can’t wait for the future,” DuBois said as he accepted his award. “What do they always say? ‘Oh baby, we just got started!’”
