Master of Health Science in Diagnostic Imaging
Join an elite group - become a chiropractic radiologist
Northwestern’s master’s degree transforms you into a highly specialized chiropractic radiologist – qualified for board certification. You'll position yourself in the healthcare marketplace as an expert in diagnostic imaging with training in advanced diagnostic imaging modalities, including CT and MRI. Learning to critically evaluate and apply the most current research also positions you to deliver the best possible evidence-based care.
Full-time residency combined with academic rigor
Your three-year, salaried diagnostic imaging residency immerses you in advanced academic study and supervised clinical practice. Additional teaching and research responsibilities enhance your practical training. As a resident working with clinical cases every day, you continuously hone your diagnostic skills and deepen your clinical expertise while advancing your knowledge through intensive study in the classroom.
Our rigorous curriculum combines training in advanced diagnostic imaging protocols with in-depth study of neuromusculoskeletal conditions. You learn best practices in differentially diagnosing conditions as diverse as:
- Inflammatory, degenerative and arthritic conditions
- Orthopedic trauma and fracture patterns
- Tumors and tumor-like conditions of the musculoskeletal system
- Vascular disturbances, including osteonecrosis
- Neurological disorders
- Cardiopulmonary diseases and conditions
- Gastrointestinal and genitourinary disease
Expert faculty mentors are board-certified radiologists
Our diagnostic imaging faculty are board-certified chiropractic radiologists - diplomates of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiologists (DACBR). They keep current about the latest advances in diagnostic imaging and advances in the profession. With their extensive clinical and academic expertise, our radiologists will hold you to a high standard to capably serve patients and the profession.
Our faculty not only teach - they challenge you and mentor you - making certain that you are able to apply what you learn to your future career in diagnostic imaging.
Chiropractic radiology: a profession in demand
As a chiropractic radiologist, your services will be in demand in as a solo or goup practice consultant in diagnostic imaging centers, healthcare clinics and rehabilitation centers.
