NUTR6006:CONCEPTS IN HOLISTIC NUTRITION

This course uses an evidence-based approach to critically evaluate potential therapeutic interventions based upon relevance, validity, and potential benefit or harm. Therapeutic use of herbs and potential herb/drug interaction will be evaluated by students using specific case studies. Food as medicine will also be reviewed from the cultural context of Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, and the history of Western nutrition theory.
