Course builds upon information learned in ORTH 6006 expanding the knowledge and practical applications of exercise science and athletic participation for the chiropractic orthopedist wanting to further specialize in sports and performance medicine. Students will spend time in a practical setting either at a sporting venue, gym/sports club or clinic specializing in the clinical management of athletes. Aspects of the pre-participation sports physical and becoming a team physician are discussed. The psychology and physiology of sports as it related to clinical orthopedic specialty practice will be shared.
