ORTH6003:DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING, CLINICAL LAB, AND NUTRITION

Course provides instruction regarding adjuncts to the standard history and physical exam consisting of clinically important tools of diagnostic imaging, clinical laboratory tests, and nutritional strategies that can be used to more effectively diagnose and/or manage orthopedic conditions. All clinically relevant imaging modalities will be presented with an emphasis on advanced imaging. Clinical laboratory testing for common and critical musculoskeletal and neurological disorders is provided. Current, well-researched nutrition therapy as it relates to orthopedic conditions as well as neurological disorders is presented. Course discussion will largely use a case-based perspective in arriving at differential diagnoses using diagnostic imaging, lab reports and/or nutritional data.
