Do you know what you really should eat? Experts in nutrition from the Harvard School of Public Health created the Healthy Eating Pyramid. The pyramid is based on the best available scientific evidence about the links between diet and health and offers logical, useable information to help people make better choices about what to eat. The key to the pyramid is its base; the foundation is daily exercise and weight control. It emphasizes eating whole grains; plant oils; vegetables and fruits; proteins from fish, poultry, eggs, and nuts and legumes; dairy or calcium supplements; and limiting red meat, butter and simple carbohydrates.
