Restaurant Eating

It can often be hard to be healthy when you’re traveling or eating at restaurants. Here are some resources that might help you to make healthier choices and pre-plan before you go out to eat.

  • Eat Right on the Road - Healthy Highways: The Traveler’s Guide to Healthy Eating by Nikki and David Goldbeck (Ceres Press, 2004) lists nearly two thousand health-conscious restaurant chains, vegetarian and organic eateries, and natural-food stores across the United States. Entries are keyed to state maps and include directions from the nearest highway exit.
  • Ashley’s Diabetes Information Center - this has nutritional information for a wide variety of restaurants…
  • Dotti’s Weight Loss Zone – this site is specific to those following the Weight Watchers plan and has points calculated for food items at numerous restaurants.
