Laugh Your Way Into April!

April is National Humor Month!  So, do you think it’s a coincidence that April Fool’s Day is April 1 and April is “National Humor Month”? To keep the laughter going at work, check out these real-life office pranks performed at an office:

  • Fill a co-workers office with sawdust.
  • Use plastic wrap to cover the opening around a co-worker’s cubicle and fill it with foam packing peanuts.
  • Frost a cookie with children’s toothpaste and offer it to a co-worker.
  • Clean out everything from another person’s office.
  • Fill a co-worker’s office with balloons.

Having fun and making others laugh can build rapport with those around you, facilitate open communication, and contribute to a positive work environment. But keep in mind that not all high jinks are well received.

Tips to Keep Everyone Having a Good Time:

  • Say no to sarcasm.
  • Be the butt of your own joke.
  • Laugh with others.
  • Create a funny file, where you keep funny workplace cartoons, amusing newspaper articles, and funny emails.
  • Create a fun committee.
  • Issue trivia quizzes.
  • Capture Kodak moments; keep a disposable camera at the office.
