![]() Protect Your Hearing at Home
Did you know that the noise made by gas-powered lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and shop tools is harmful to your hearing? Exposure over time to the noise level of these devices can cause gradual noise-related hearing loss. When using your lawn mower, leaf blower, power tools, or other noisy devices in your home, protect your hearing. Wear special earplugs or earmuffs that you can find at your local hardware, home building supply, or sporting goods store. Also, remember to protect your children from the harmful noises. Remind your child to turn down the volume on headsets and stereos. If your teen is going out to a rock concert or club with loud music, make sure he or she carries earplugs and uses them. The sound level of this music is much more harmful than home devices. The music will be heard even with earplugs.
