Every job has tasks that must be accomplished, along with objectives to accomplish goals. The processes that we do, to complete tasks usually are the same processes that have been done for years. And for some tasks, it has always been done that way. This may or may not be the most efficient way.
Different workers or departments can work together to reach the most efficient way of completing tasks. To make new processes work well, follow these steps.
- Let everyone know how you are currently completing tasks. You should state each step and who is responsible for what. Be detailed, and carefully document.
- Critically look at the current work flow arrangements. Are there any inefficiencies?
- Meet together as a team to decide how you can change these work flow problems. Listen to all comments from every team member; this will, in turn, smooth the way for change. If you decide that a new process will be implemented, decide who will be responsible.
- Try the new arrangement. It may not be perfect; minor adjustments may be needed along the way. But this may be a new step in a better direction.
