Biggest Successes This Month: My biggest success this month was developing a new realistic exercise plan. In addition, I believe I have made notable differences in other aspects of my life. I’m enjoying myself more both at work and outside of work. Consequently, I’m less tired in the evenings and more apt to make healthful decisions.
My biggest challenge this month was not overeating. I was so busy, and eating healthfully fell by the wayside. However, I’ve been improving.
I realized that I am a perennial list creator. Over the past 6 months I have created numerous written lists, non-written lists, goals and action plans. Exercise more. Do this. Do that. But in doing so, I’ve created “To-do” lists but haven’t created the necessary “Do-not-do” list. For me to truly accomplish my goals I must also create a “Do-not-do” list. For example, I have found myself rationalizing that it is ok to have a cookie because I’ve exercised today. In reality, I need to put that cookie on my “Do-not-do” list. In addition, there are only so many hours in the day; in order to accomplish my long-term goals, I need to remember my priorities and eliminate the items that do not fit with my goals. To be fair, I unconsciously have started on this list: I’ve replaced mindless TV watching with reading.
I feel as though I am ready to continue to take healthful actions. I feel more connected with both my work and non-work time; I feel as though my actions are more aligned with my long term goals. Interestingly, I feel freer to experiment, take action and try new things. Follow "Lee's" Successes and Challenges:
