Biggest Successes This Month: I've had lots of successes this month. I'm so pleased to report that my health has greatly improved and that I'm able to start walking and doing a little exercise again. I'm down to one or two cups of coffee a day and I've given up Diet Coke. During this time of physical inactivity, I haven't gained any weight (in fact I lost two more pounds this past month), my blood work (cholesterol and glucose) all improved (more about that in the final report), and I've learned a lot about attitude towards weight loss versus health. My biggest success this month, however, is that I continue to work and live my life in a saner and more balanced way. I rarely take work home and I haven't worked on a weekend for months.
My biggest challenge was remembering that even though I'm feeling so much better, I'm still recovering from a health issue and I need to remember to take it easy. I need to hold the thought that I will be able to exercise and do more as the weeks progress. Being patient with myself is at times a challenge - but I must say it's just a little one.
As I was thinking about this part of my report and what I would say about any "A-Ha" moments, it occurred to me that the things I've learned and the changes I've made have become a part of my everyday life. Most of the time, I'm living the changes that I hoped to make at the beginning of this program.
I'm excited about taking this experience into my "everyday" life. The health lessons that I've had with Paul Ratte and Julia Bartlett have been amazing. The coaching sessions that I've had with Rosie have helped keep me on track, but now I'm anxious to see if I'm able to stay with the changes on my own. I'm quite confident that I will be able to do so.
