The National Women’s Health Information Center (NWHIC) breastfeeding web page was ranked #1 among the most frequently accessed breastfeeding sites.  In a report created by the Journal of Human Lactation (2005), a study of forty web sites were evaluated for extent, accuracy, credibility, presentation, ease of use, and adherence to ethical and medical Internet publishing standards. The information that NWHIC has on its web site, www.womenshealth.gov/breastfeeding was reviewed and compared against a set criteria for evaluation.
