Hormones released in response to short- and long-term stress impair memory and cognitive processing in children and adults. To help keep your brain functioning at its best, manage your stress. Some ways to manage your stress include regular exercise, contact with supportive family and friends, deep-breathing exercises, meditation, massage, yoga, tai chi, guided imagery and relaxing music.
