![]() Half of Cancer Deaths Are Preventable
At least half of all cancer deaths could be avoided if people would stop smoking, have screening tests, reduce levels of obesity and overweight, and improve nutrition and physical activity. A new report from the American Cancer Society estimates that about one-third (188,277) of cancer deaths in 2006 will be due to poor nutrition, lack of exercise and excess weight.
