![]() Smoking and Breast Cancer
Women who smoke or women who are exposed to secondhand smoke have a higher risk of breast cancer. Compared to non-smokers (not exposed to secondhand smoke), women who smoke had a 46% higher risk of breast cancer, and women exposed to secondhand smoke were 27% more likely to develop breast cancer. Any way you look at it, smoking or secondhand smoke is dangerous to your health. Companies that require a smoke-free work environment are helping prevent breast cancer in their employees.
