Cancer Deaths in U.S. Decline First Time in Over 70 Years

The American Cancer Society reports that the number of cancer deaths in the United States dropped slightly in 2003. This is the first decline in more than 70 years. Lifestyle changes, such as quitting smoking, and advances in prevention, early detection, and improved treatment have contributed to the decline.
