Experience
and Educational Requirements:
- Minimum of five years in a position as a financial analyst, assistant comptroller or general ledger accountant
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, preferably in education and/or not-for-profit accounting
- Working knowledge of general ledger and journal entries
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Excel
- Experience in financial auditing
- Crystal Report Writing, required
- Prefer knowledge of and experience with Agresso ERP software
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- CPA license preferred

Summary of Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the University Comptroller. Learn and understand all duties of the Comptroller and become competent in fulfilling these duties as a means of cross-functional training
- Become fluent in Agresso software and writing reports in Crystal Reports. Learn and become competent in Agresso accounting software data mining, creating financial reports using Crystal Reports and developing information relevant to University operations
- Produce audit materials. Develop and produce all financial reports and notes required for our annual financial audit. Assist in the preparation of items requested by the auditors
- Produce financial statements. Produce periodic financial reports including:
- Statement of Activities
- Balance sheets
- Statement of cash flows
- Cash flow projections
- Other reports as needed
- Assist with budgeting. Learn and understand the budgeting process for the University and become competent in leading the process
- Develop financial analysis materials. Develop financial analysis materials in response to the need for evaluation of data by various constituencies of the University
- Understand accounts payable and accounts receivable duties. Become familiar with the duties of the accounts payable and accounts receivable technicians
- Provide accounting for charitable gaming reports. Learn and understand the process of Charitable Gaming Reporting. Become the responsible person for monthly reporting to the State Department of Revenue
- Assist in rewriting and maintain the General Operating Procedures manual for the University
- Develop a general risk analysis process for the University and periodically communicate with management regarding alternatives for mitigating risk
- Develop and implement an internal auditing function for the University
