Experience
and Educational Requirements:
- Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited educational institution
- Licensed to
practice in the State of Minnesota
- Minimum 2 years chiropractic clinical practice experience with a focus on musculoskeletal conditions. Must have experience with high-force, low-amplitude manual adjusting techniques, as well as other techniques typically associated with "Diversified" practitioners
- Demonstrated familiarity with recent clinical research of conservative treatment approaches for low back, neck and headache conditions

Summary of Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide clinical research services as part of a multidisciplinary research team. This includes providing care within the context of federally funded randomized clinical trials, evaluating potential study participants, monitoring their care, and participating in the reporting of study processes and results. The successful applicant will be familiar with "evidence-informed practice" and have experience applying clinical judgment, the best available research and patient preferences for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with low back, neck and headache conditions.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Participate as a chiropractic provider on the federally funded Back-Related Leg Pain and Integrated Health Care (IHC) Studies. Specifically, provide evidence-based chiropractic treatment within the scope of chiropractic care and practice.
- As part of the IHC Care Team:
- Work with several healthcare professionals to create standardized integrated care pathways and identify benchmarks for patient care
- Participate in twice-weekly IHC Care Team meetings, review patient cases, implement care pathways, and reach multidisciplinary evidence-based decisions regarding patient care
- Take and perform patient histories, physical examinations and x-rays of individuals seeking entry into multiple clinic clinical trials taking place within WHCCS. Document and summarize findings electronically according to study-specific and WHCCS protocols
- Participate in twice-weekly Department Case Review Meetings:
- Present each patient case to other research clinicians and discuss relevant findings to determine patient eligibility
- Suggest appropriate referrals and make appropriate evidence-based healthcare recommendations for patients not qualifying for the study
- Perform clinical follow-up of study participants to assess progress. Provide post-study recommendations according to study protocols
- Participate in the preparation of presentations and manuscripts to be published in peer-reviewed, indexed scientific journals
- Stay current with best available scientific research and literature regarding relevant health care conditions
- Other responsibilities as assigned
