General Information

Employees who are covered by the University's medical and/or life insurance plans have two Employee Assistance Program options available.

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN offers Blue Print for Health Employee Assistance Program at (651) 662-0900, toll free at 1-800-432-5155 or www.bluecrossmn.com (sign into myBlueCross).
  • Principal Financial Group (provider of NWHSU's life insurance) provides Magellan Health Services Employee Assistance Program at 1-800-450-1327 or www.MagellanHealth.com.

Both Employee Assistance Programs provide support and information to help employees and their family members deal with a variety of life's challenges including: relationships, parenting, stress, financial matters and work-related issues.

Q: I'm having a tough time with things at work, at home and just all around. Is there anyone I can talk to?

A: NWHSU offers two Employee Assistance Programs to assist employees and family members with various life challenges. They are trained professionals and are ready to help you.

Q: What types of assistance do these programs offer?

A: These programs offer assistance for a WIDE variety of things, such things as family issues, adjusting to changes at work or at home, legal issues, budgeting your finances and much much more.

Q: I am in need of legal counseling. Does NWHSU offer legal assistance?

A: NWHSU offers a legal plan for a low monthly fee. You are able to enroll and drop the plan at your own will. See Lisa Franczak @ Human Resources for enrollment forms.
