General
Information
Sick Leave Only time is a bank of hours
that eligible employees can use for the illness of an
employee or his/her dependent child after using five
(5) consecutive days of PTO.
Sick Leave Only may also be used for: birth and care
of a child or for the placement of a child with the
employee for adoption or foster care; to care for a
spouse, child or parent of the employee because of a
serious health condition. Regular full time and regular
part time employees (budgeted for 20 or more hours a
week) are eligible for this benefit. An employee may
also use Sick Leave Only if he/she is ill or injured
and does not have PTO available.
At
the end of each fiscal year, PTO balances in excess of the
carryover amounts from the previous year will be automatically
transferred to the employee's Sick Leave Only account.
Sick Leave Only time will continue to accumulate from year
to year. Unused Sick Leave Only hours will not be paid
at the time of termination, resignation or retirement.
