NWHSU logo Student PC Purchase Plan

Northwestern Health Sciences University students who wish to purchase a computer system using Federal Financial Aid loan money must initially purchase the system using their own funds, i.e., cash, check or credit card. To receive reimbursement, students MUST remit their sales acknowledgment to the Financial Aid Office. Northwestern's Financial Aid office will then process a loan to be added to a student's other school loans. This is a one time only purchase while attending NWHSU.

Note: It is University policy that the use of financial aid be restricted to the purchase of a personal computer appropriate for educational purposes.

Minimum Hardware/Software Requirements:

  • 2.5 GHz or faster CPU
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 40 GB or larger hard drive
  • 15" or larger monitor
  • Windows XP
  • Microsoft Office XP
  • 56K modem
  • Inkjet printer (optional)

For your convenience, computers may be ordered through Northwestern's Bookstore.

Students may borrow up to $1800 toward the purchase of a computer system meeting the above minimum requirements.

There is still an origination fee and disbursement schedules that must be adhered to when processing loans. If you have any questions, please contact a Financial Aid representative in Student Records and Financial Services.
