Northwestern Health Sciences University Begins Search for College of Chiropractic Dean
Dr. Julia Bartlett Named Interim Dean
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – A national search is underway for a new Dean of Northwestern College of Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University. Julia Bartlett, DC, FACO, has assumed the role of Acting Dean until the position of Dean is filled.
A search committee has been formed to assist in the selection of a new Dean for the Chiropractic College. “The role of the Dean is critical to the success and progress of the chiropractic program,” said Michael Wiles, DC, MEd, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “We will be thorough in our effort to select the right person for this position.”
Tom Bergmann, DC, professor, will serve as chair of the search committee. Other members are: Anita Manne, DC, DACBR, professor; Jane Wittich, BSN, PhD, professor; Ursula Amiot, DC, assistant professor and faculty clinican; Deborah Hogenson, BS, director of human resources; and chiropractic student Katy Lundell.
"I'm happy to take on the role of Acting Dean,” said Dr. Bartlett, “and I will continue to move forward with the initiatives that Dr. Wiles had set in motion. I'm excited to have the opportunity as Acting Dean to interact and work with a new group of students as they begin their education at Northwestern."
Dr. Bartlett has been Associate Dean of Chiropractic Education since 2006. She has been fulfilling the duties of the Dean position since Michael Wiles, DC, MEd, began serving as interim provost in December 2008. Dr. Wiles was named to the Provost position in June, 2009.
Northwestern Health Sciences University offers a wide array of choices in natural health care education including chiropractic, Oriental medicine, acupuncture, therapeutic massage and human biology. The University has nearly 900 students on a 25-acre campus in Bloomington, Minnesota.
