Benefit Dinner a HUGE Success for Family of Patrick Holmes
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - A “Thanks for the Ride” benefit dinner held Oct. 4 for the family of Patrick Holmes, BS, a Northwestern Health Sciences University employee who was lost in the collapse of the I-35W Bridge, exceeded expectations and was met with an outpouring of generosity.
Holmes had worked in the Wolfe-Harris Center for Clinical Studies as an exercise therapist since 2001, and was named rehabilitation services coordinator in 2003.
“The benefit raised more than $50,000,” said Sarah Zwagerman, BS, research clinic administrator and a co-worker of Holmes. The 1,200 people that came had a wonderful time and were extremely generous in the support of Pat’s wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Gaven and Rena, according to Zwagerman.
Zwagerman said there were many things to participate in, including the dinner, a 120-item silent auction, and a raffle. Donations can still be made to Holmes’ family. For information, visit http://www.holmesbenefit.com/donate.html.
