Another SPOOKtacular Halloween Party at Northwestern
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Northwestern Health Sciences University welcomed nearly 1,000 community members for a Halloween party on Oct. 31. The event was open to preschoolers through fourth-graders who were accompanied by adult guardians.
The party began with carnival games, prizes and photographs in front of a Halloween scene. Richardson Nature Center provided a display of living creatures and followed with an animal show in the auditorium.
Trick-or-treaters then lined up for their turn in Halloween Alley, where they filled their baskets with sweets. Children also had an opportunity to enter a drawing for a generous gift basket filled with prizes appropriate for their age level.
Julie Palmer, mother of Tyler, 6, said, “This is our second year here and we just love it! Not only can kids trick-or-treat safely, but there are also animals and fun games and prizes for them.”
Admission to the party was free, but a contribution of a non-perishable food item was requested. All items were donated to Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP).
“I gladly donated items to VEAP,” said Greg Tucker, father of 5-year old Sarah. “Not only because it is contributing to a good cause, but also because this event provides so much for the kids for free, that I truly do want to help out.”
The Halloween party was co-sponsored by the Breakfast Optimist Club of Bloomington, Bloomington Parks and Recreation, and Northwestern Health Sciences University.
Northwestern Health Sciences University offers a wide array of choices in natural health care education including chiropractic, Oriental medicine, acupuncture, therapeutic massage, human biology, and integrative health and wellness.
