Northwestern Health Sciences University Professor Speaks About the Benefits of Acupuncture
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. —Northwestern Health Sciences University is a rich source of natural health care knowledge, as many people – from many places - are discovering. Recently, Northwestern professor Wei Liu, LAc, TCMD, spoke about acupuncture at a symposium in San Diego as was a guest on a cable television segment on Channel 6 in Minneapolis. Liu teaches at the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
“The Pacific Symposium is one of the largest in the country for acupuncture,” Liu said. “I spoke about the power of needles and the Liu Scalp Acupuncture technique, which has been a family secret. More than 500 people attended.”
For Channel 6, a Twin Cities station, Liu said he spoke about acupuncture on a segment called “Strictly Seniors.”
“I told the story behind acupuncture, what it is, and how it can work for seniors,” Liu said.
The segment, which will be aired several times on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., will also be available online eventually at www.strictly-seniors.com.
Liu said not only are speaking opportunities beneficial for him, but also as a way to promote Northwestern and acupuncture. “Our program is so unique,” Liu said. “We have a very good school here. This is a way for me to educate others.”

The University has more than 900 full-time students on a 25-acre campus in Bloomington, Minn.
