Northwestern Health Sciences University Clinic Launches Effort to Assist Nigerian Boy
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Woodwinds Natural Care Center, a clinic of Northwestern Health Sciences University, has launched a grassroots effort to raise money for a seven-year-old Nigerian boy named Moses. Moses’s underdeveloped muscles and contorted body lead doctors to believe that Moses has cerebral palsy, a medical condition that causes physical and mental disabilities.
The goal is to bring Moses to Minnesota in October, 2008, to receive medical treatment and improve his life skills. So far nearly $7,300 has been raised. The goal is set for $10,000, which will be used for many different things: airfare for Moses and a caretaker, medical assessments and treatments, and his general living costs. In addition to monetary donations, many dentists and clinicians have volunteered to donate their services to Moses.
Additional donations are still needed to support Moses. Donations can be made at the Woodwinds Natural Care Center in Woodbury, Minn.; via www.hopeformosesfund.org; or at the Teacher Federal Credit Union in Minneapolis.
Northwestern Health Sciences University offers a wide array of choices in natural health care education including chiropractic, Oriental medicine, acupuncture, therapeutic massage and human biology. The University has nearly 900 students on a 25-acre campus in Bloomington, Minnesota. |
