Progress is Underway in Search for New Provost at Northwestern Health Sciences University
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The search for a new Provost of Northwestern Health Sciences University is moving ahead as expected, according to William Elkington, DC, Northwestern professor and chair of the search committee. The position description has been posted and the search committee is accepting applications and reviewing resumes at this time.
“We’re in the process of recruiting a pool of high-quality candidates,” reports Dr. Elkington. “The committee is meeting weekly, and has started to review and form initial impressions of candidates, but no decisions have been made yet.”
Dr. Elkington emphasized that the main objective of the search committee right now is to expand the pool of candidates. They will continue to accept resumes for at least another few weeks and possibly longer.
To aid in the recruiting, a prospectus for the position is now available. A prospectus is becoming customary in a search for a position at this level of administration. It is a document that describes in detail the responsibilities of the role, the reporting structure, and provides an overview of the institution. The prospectus is available in print and electronic form. To access the form, click on the Provost Search tab on the homepage of the University web site, www.nwhealth.edu, then select the link to the prospectus.
When the committee is satisfied it has assembled a group of suitable candidates, they will generate a list of recommendations to submit to Mark Zeigler, DC, President of Northwestern.
Dr. Elkington invites the University community to view the prospectus and to forward to the search committee the names of any individuals they may know of who may be interested in and qualified for the position.
Northwestern Health Sciences University offers a wide array of choices in natural health care education including chiropractic, Oriental medicine, acupuncture, therapeutic massage and human biology. The University has nearly 900 students on a 25-acre campus in Bloomington, Minnesota.
